Few issues generate more concern and anxiety for business owners, their employees, and their families than the succession of decision-making and control in a going concern. From small family farm operations to multi-billion-dollar corporations, continued success of a business is largely dependent on an established, coherent succession plan.  This session will delve into how to approach succession planning from a practical perspective to help accounting practitioners provide real, tangible assistance to their clients, employers, family, and friends on a topic that will affect virtually everyone.  Specific accounting concepts such as valuation, buy-sell formulas, and tax strategies, as well as working within the client’s team of lawyers, financial advisors, and other stakeholders.
